A sub-district of Muar had been upgraded to a full-fledged district named 'Ledang', and Tangkak is the capital for this district. Ledang which would cover Tangkak town, Tangjung Agas, Sungai Mati, Serom, Sagil and bukit Gambir. Tangkak lies in close proximity to the state of Melaka, and need only about half an hour drive to/from Melaka city.Tangkak is popular as Fabric Town. It is also well-known as Gunung Ledang ( the highest mountain in Johor).
In order to get yourself to Tangkak, what you have to do is just exit at the Tangkak Interchange toll through North-South expressway in peninsular of Malaysia. It is about 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur, half an hour from Melaka city centre, 2 hours from Johor Bahru and 3 hours from Singapore.
